Rev. Fr. Dimitri Tobias was assigned to the parish of Holy Trinity in August of 2013. Born in Colorado Springs, CO to Richard and Angela Tobias, Fr. Dimitri is the middle of three sons. Both parents served in the United Air Force so Fr. Dimitri grew up traveling from base to base. Graduating High School in Germantown Tennessee, he traveled to Brookline, MA to enroll in Hellenic College where he graduated in 2004 with a B.A. in Religious Studies. Continuing at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, Fr. Dimitri graduated with a Masters of Divinity in 2007.

From 2007 until 2009 Fr. Dimitri worked as the Registrar of the Metropolis of Chicago where he processed paperwork for Baptisms, Chrismations, Weddings, and Funerals. During this time he also served as the driver and personal assistant to His Grace Bishop Demetrios of Mokissos, Chancellor of the Metropolis of Chicago, traveling to all of the parishes of the Metropolis.

From 2009 until 2012 Fr. Dimitri served as the Lay Assistant to Rev. Fr. Peter Balkas at the Parish of St. Nectarios in Palatine, IL. While there, Fr. Dimitri offered numerous adult education classes, bible studies, wedding seminars, baptismal seminars, chrismation classes in addition to his work with Youth and Families Ministries. Fr. Dimitri also designed and maintained the St. Nectarios website, Facebook, and twitter accounts.

At St. Nectarios Parish Fr. Dimitri met Mary Sourounis and the two were married in January of 2012 by Bishop Demetrios of Mokissos. While Fr. Dimitri felt honored and blessed to serve in that parish, finding his loving wife far eclipsed the other blessings.

On June 29, 2012, the Feast of SS. Peter and Paul, Fr. Dimitri was ordained to Holy Diaconate by the laying on of hands of Bishop Demetrios of Mokissos at SS. Peter & Paul in Glenview, IL, where he was assigned as the assistant to Rev. Fr. James Dokos.

On September 2, 2012, the Feast of St. Mammas the Martyr, Fr. Dimitri was ordained to the Holy Priesthood by the laying on of hands of Bishop Demetrios of Mokissos at the Parish of St. Nectarios in Palatine, IL where Fr. Dimitri had previously served.

While at SS. Peter & Paul in Glenview, IL, Fr. Dimitri served diligently and gratefully, learning from both Fr. James Dokos and the people.

Fr. Dimitri seeks above all else to build the Body of Christ. His mission for the Parish of Holy Trinity is to build through bountiful religious services, educational classes, fellowship opportunities and outreach. The pillars of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving will feature prominently in the ministries of the Parish. This is to achieve the Vision for the Parish: A Dynamic Church, equally strong at home as at the Parish, fortified by Ministries that bring the faithful closer to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, His Holy Mother, and all the Saints.
